About the Society

The Bluegrass Preservation Society, Inc. is dedicated to the preservation of old time Bluegrass Music. Founded in June of this year by Ewell Ferguson and headquartered in Gassaway, WV, the foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax deductable.

One of our goals is to build a performance hall to allow local Bluegrass bands the opportunity to stage concerts to showcase their talents. The performance hall will also include music rooms for workshops for beginners as well as accomplished musicians. We will seek to promote the capabilities of accomplished musicians and encourage new comers to the world of Bluegrass, both young and old.

Another goal we have is to stage Bluegrass concerts on a regular basis so you can help us in our goal of preservation. By attending the concerts you will be directly helping to preserve our heritage.

We depend upon donations. For those of you who love Bluegrass music, as I do, your help in our efforts will be sincerely appreciated.

Cats beside the club

Cleo, Harley, and Buster sat in on more radio hours than some guest pickers. That habit grew into formal adoption rooms: a Virginia centre for barn and house cats, and a London room on Battersea Park Road at Nine Elms. Music people still order CDs and stream old shows. People looking for a cat use the same front door and the same Contact page.

If you are travelling between a gig and a viewing, pack a hard carrier and leave time to wipe paws before you sit in the meet-and-greet bench. The London rooms stay quiet during intake so a shy cat is not asked to share a hallway with a guitar case on wheels.
